Girl allegedly raped, murdered and dismembered by family members on her 10th birthday

The story below, if true, is just horrific.  It also demonstrates that gender is no barrier to horrific and just evil acts.  In this case 2 women and 1 man appear to be involved and the one is her mother:

A mother, a boyfriend and a third person have been arrested in Albuquerque, N.M., after police discovered the burned, dismembered corpse of a 10-year-old girl who was drugged, raped, stabbed, strangled and killed hours before her birthday party…..

According to KOAT, police said Martens and Gonzales confessed Wednesday to injecting the girl with meth “to make her calm down so they could do what they wanted with the little girl.”  (full article here)

Female sex offenders are no different than male sex offenders in that each case, each offender is unique unto themselves.  I am sure that this poor little girl suffered neglect and abuse prior to this incident.

32 year old woman sexually abuses 6 year old

A story out of Indiana in which a 32 year old woman has been sentenced to 80 years for 2 counts of child molesting.  According to the story she started sexually abusing this child when he was 6 years old and continued for years.  (Full story here)

A few things stand out in this story with the worst being this quote:

Martin’s mother Arlene Martin told detectives Martin had been inappropriate with two younger family members before and was not allowed to be alone with them. She also said she had caught Martin inappropriately touching an infant..

So she had already been offending against other children and an infant and it was never reported?  Sadly this is very common when it comes to female sex offenders.  They are probably the least reported group of sex offenders.

Because of the lack of reporting and the fact that often these cases do not get labeled as rape is why the statistics on female sex offenders are so skewed and so many people are in the dark about them.

Thank you Mr. President

The President of the United States made a comment which gives me hope that maybe, just maybe, things are slowly starting to turn around.  He said:

” … if you give a woman, or a man, for that matter, without his or her knowledge a drug and then have sex with that person without consent, that’s rape.”

He is right but so often some people have double standards when it comes to men and women.  They see the woman as being sexually assaulted but the man as being “lucky.”  This is one reason why female sex offenders can get away with doing just this kind of behavior and no one, often including themselves, see this as being wrong.

A man gets a lady drunk and takes advantage of the situation and it is seen as wrong, however a lady gets a man drunk and takes advantage of the situation and it is seen as fine.  These type of double standards need to go.
